How This Furthers Our Mission:

Denkai Animal Sanctuary is set up to provide Sanctuary and rescue services to animals in need while working with our local youth enabling them to become productive members of our society. Over the past four years, our Sanctuary has been able to assist more than 1000 large and small domestic animals in need and over 300 community youth.

The Sanctuary has had plans to sustain operations through growing feed for the animals and operating through alternative energies.

This Grover property offers our Sanctuary the opportunity to further our goals and reach our maximum potential. The facility currently would pay for itself with the minimal funding that is already being generated through wheat crops and the CRP program. If we are able to grow and produce our own feed for the animals, which this facility offers, we would be saving a minimum of $10,000.00 per year.

The long term goals for this facility would include adding sustainable buildings such as an office space, bunkhouses, a greenhouse, and more facilities for the animals using passive solar designs and wind/solar energies.

This property would also act as a holding facility for impounded animals due to neglect or abandonment issues with plenty of quarantine areas. We plan to add a veterinary clinic to the property in one of the existing outbuildings along with a facility for large animal veterinary needs as well. Housing for additional workers will be provided five miles away at another rescue operation until our additional houses are secure. We will be bringing 4-5 people with us on this move.

Denkai Animal Sanctuary has been organized to operate exclusively for charitable, scientific, prevention of cruelty to animals, and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

This Sanctuary provides adoption services and a permanent home for close to 90 animals including horses, llamas, pot bellied pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, dogs and even a few cats.

We operate through kind volunteers, and in turn give them the opportunity to foster compassion for these abused and neglected animals by helping with their maintenance and rehabilitation. We also work with several local educational establishments and have worked with mentally and physically challenged adults and kids. We believe in helping these animals and giving back to the community.
