Fun at Denkai

GoodSearch: You Search...We Give!

At Denkai Sanctuary we love to have fun with our animals and our volunteers. Below are some stories and pictures of fun times both at the sanctuary and in the community.

Denaki Visits the Library and Touches Hundreds!

Sanctuary volunteers and staff brought many well adjusted and happy animals including, Sweet Pea, a 10 year old miniature horse with a crippling condition, Kenai, a 6 year old miniature donkey, Flicka, a 30 year old Mare, Frosty, a 13 year old llama and many more, to visit with over 100 children at the Fort Collins Library.  Marian Sawyer, head Children's Librarian along with all of the library staff were wonderful to work with in bringing children together for Readers to the Rescue, a program offered through the library to raise $3,000.00 in an effort to feed the Sanctuary animals!

Above is a picture of Ruth, a 3 month old Airedale Terrier/German Shepherd puppy who is looking for a permanent home through the Sanctuary's adoption program!

To the left is a picture of a group of school aged children visiting  with Sweet Pea, a 10 year old miniature horse with clubbed foot due to neglect.  The other miniature is Kenai, a 6 year old miniature donkey that resides at the Sanctuary.  Both of these precious animals are looking for sponsors!

Denkai Animal Sanctuary has been organized to operate exclusively for charitable, scientific, prevention of cruelty to animals, and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

This Sanctuary provides adoption services and a permanent home for close to 90 animals including horses, llamas, pot bellied pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, dogs and even a few cats.

We operate through kind volunteers, and in turn give them the opportunity to foster compassion for these abused and neglected animals by helping with their maintenance and rehabilitation. We also work with several local educational establishments and have worked with mentally and physically challenged adults and kids. We believe in helping these animals and giving back to the community.
