41 Freshmen from CSU's Parmalee Hall Help Out Denkai

Saturday, August 18, 41 Freshmen from CSU's Parmalee Hall dorms, a group organized by Brittany Eskridge visited and volunteered with Denkai Animal Sanctuary in an effort to promote community involvement through local non profit groups.

These amazing individuals learned the mission and importance of the work performed at the Sanctuary and immediately set to work walking dogs, poop scooping, taking down fencing, helping to rebuild pens, walking Little Man, the 10 year old miniature horse, and grooming some of the senior horses residing here at the Sanctuary.

This was one of the most enthusiastic and hard-working groups we have ever had visit the Sanctuary. They left with the promise of returning again and again. We all look forward to that and below are some of the pictures from the day!

We have been very happy to have hosted Corbett Hall, the Student Leadership and Civic Engagement group, and CSU Unity. These groups have been volunteering with our Sanctuary over the past three years and we are looking forward to many years to come! Take a look at some of the pictures below.

Denkai Animal Sanctuary has been organized to operate exclusively for charitable, scientific, prevention of cruelty to animals, and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

This Sanctuary provides adoption services and a permanent home for close to 90 animals including horses, llamas, pot bellied pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, dogs and even a few cats.

We operate through kind volunteers, and in turn give them the opportunity to foster compassion for these abused and neglected animals by helping with their maintenance and rehabilitation. We also work with several local educational establishments and have worked with mentally and physically challenged adults and kids. We believe in helping these animals and giving back to the community.
