Denkai Animal Sanctuary is the ONLY quality of life; no-kill facility in Weld County and one of only two no-kill shelters in all of Northern Colorado! We service all of Colorado, and states nationally.

We believe that every animal deserves a chance. Since we house over 250 animals at any given time, we always need volunteers, donations, and funding. Our goal is to help ease the burden of homeless pets in our community. We strive to find homes for adoptable dogs, cats, and exotics by placing them in loving, caring, permanent homes.

Do you want to set up a Fundraising Event to support Denkai Sanctuary? Well, that would be a remarkable gesture for the Animals! Please e-mail us and tell us what you have in mind!

  • Angel Tree Fundraiser
This is our 6th year running the “Angel Tree” fundraiser. It has been wildly successful! We find that people enjoy shopping for a specific pet we have at the shelter.

       How it Works:

  1. A designated Denkai volunteer will contact the store where he/she will be setting up their tree.
  2. Trees will be set up sometime between Nov. 27 – Dec. 5. The trees are medium in size.
  3. Each tree will be decorated with white Christmas lights, dog biscuits and up to 50 ornaments with photos of pets currently in residence with Denkai.
  4. On the back of each ornament is a wish list for that pet.
  5. There will also be a sign hung on the tree with information about the Angel Tree program.
  • A shopper can take an ornament off of the tree and shop for that pet. They can bring their gift back to the store in which they picked up the ornament, or to the adoption center itself.
  • Donations dropped off at stores will be picked up weekly by volunteers. If donations start to build up, the store manager can call their volunteer contact to alert them, and a volunteer with pick up the donations right away.
  • The trees will be taken down by January 4th. We find that MANY people drop off their donation immediately after the Christmas holiday.
